Have you read about my yearly project yet?
I have always wanted to try to make my own chain. It is tedious work and takes forever to do. Plus it would be way to expensive for any one to buy and way to time consuming for me to keep making.
Since the whole idea of this yearly project is to challenge my self and do things I wouldn't normally do I thought incorporating 100% handmade chain into the design would be the perfect challenge!
Here's some pictures of the chain so far. It has taken me 30 minutes to do 3 inches and I can't wait to have the finished product in my hands. I am going for 20".
You are more patient than I am! But good for you for having a goal. Good luck!!!
ReplyDeleteIt *seems* a lot faster if you make several solo links then attach two with a third one between them THEN attach the little trios together. Of course you do have to make a divot in your soldering brick - if you're using one. (did that make sense?) I'm on my third. It tedious but therapeutic.
