Your Opinion Please

I tried out this new technique last night and now I want to know what you think!

I think this necklace looks like a piece of seaweed or coral... Now this piece is a little ruff around the edges, it was my first try. So it wont be in my Etsy shop. I just wanted to get some opinions of others before I make another one. Do you guys like it?

Red Dress, I Say Yes!

This would be a great Christmas dress or you could wear it all year round as well! I would pair it with some black leggings some cute flats and some sort of coat or sweater in black. What would you wear it with?

Shipping Fiasco, Turned GOOD!

The package that never came... the second package that still did not come and when the seller was about to refund the money. The mail box delivered me one of the packages!!! Yay! So after waiting for 2 months for my package it was totally worth it because my excitement made me come up with the necklace below! I love getting new material!(Click on image)

Great Christmas Soaps

Here are some great soaps that would be really cool gifts. All of them are handmade and from Etsy sellers. The Raindeer Poop soap is so hilarious and I am definitely buying this for someone on my Christmas list! There is also Snowman Poop that surprisingly looks like...wait for it... snow balls! (click on picture)

These yummies I am afraid to give as a gift because I wouldn't want anyone to pop them in their mouths! They look so real! (click on picture)

Anybody have a gamer in their family? Chances are you do! I thought this was so cool and would be perfect for someone I know. Check out the pepsi scented shampoo in this same shop. (click on picture)

Sproost My Style

Cottage Chic

Who says that cottages can't be modern and chic? Who says that they have to be floral and cheesy? Not you! You love the carefree spirit that the cottage interior inspires, but you are also serious about your appreciation for modern art and hip treasures. You love old and new alike, and love to highlight them all to expose the uniqueness of each. What better way to show off these treasures than with a light background?

Modern Elegance

Variety is the spice of life! And nowhere is this truer than in the design of your home... You either love contemporary but wish it wasn't quite so cold and austere; or perhaps you've always been drawn to more traditional rooms but are now at a point in your life where you'd like to pair down a bit or want to create a less cluttered and busy space. Transitional Style is here to marry those apparent contradicting designs. And guess what — it's the contradictions that make the mix of contemporary and traditional so successful. The result is an elegant room that appeals to young and old alike. A sofa with modern lines blends seamlessly with a pair of traditional chairs. New fabrics work so well on antique pieces. It turns out that modern art looks even more exciting above a collection of traditional pieces. The room feels simple and sophisticated, elegant and hip.

Have you herd of Sproost.com? Above are my quiz results for what style I am. Y0u can also take the quiz here.

About me

My name is Zoe I have always been artsy, I grew up with my mom painting all the time and a bit of that creativity and love for art has rubbed of on me. I love photography and collecting unique and yummy gemstones. One of my favourite things to do is go for a walk on a warm summer night... which I don't get to do much being a single mom with a two year old.

Originally I am from Saskatoon Saskatchewan Canada, but from the age of three I have moved here and there to cities like Victoria and Montreal I now live back in British Columbia in Vancouver. I think growing up in so many different cities has inspired my love for diversity and individuality.

I started making jewellery about a year ago and it happened so fast I really can't recall what I was thinking. I've always liked to try new things and I guess jewellery making just caught on. The name Sleepy Moon design came to me from my love of the moon. It's almost like one big glowing gemstone in the sky.

The Sleepy Moon jewellery line is full of classic and modern jewellery. You can find anything from fabulous gemstones masterpieces to sophisticated and practical styles. I am always evolving with new designs and new styles, but you can count on the jewellery always having beautiful gemstones incorporated in them.

I love to search Etsy for unique and mouth watering gemstones. I am always amazed at the wondrous treasures I can find on etsy. ...

The Cure 2009-week two

It's week two of the fall cure and this week is all about doing a thorough cleaning of let's say the kitchen, which is my worst enemy! Thank goodness we just moved in a month ago and we do not need to clean it that thoroughly. We did that when we moved in! Though I still should do some organizing and crumb clean up. Oh and the fridge! The fridge could always use a clean!

Read about others doing the Fall Cure and the Green Cure.

In this picture you see the area in our kitchen where the dirty dishes and recycling always seem to congregate. I guess the walk to the front closet to the recycling is too long, not to mention that exhausting reach into the dishwasher!

I have been really into nature and fall and the beautiful outdoors. I find it very inspiring! This necklace reminds me of the moss on the side of the trees and the luscious green leaves that fill the trees with life.

When I Found Etsy

One day about eight months ago I was making jewellery and a friend suggested why not sell it on Etsy. I had never heard of Etsy before so I decided to take a look. I found so many amazing handmade items like this hat and bag. So I took the plunge and signed my self up for an Etsy account.

I started to explore and found the forums and the Storque. That is where I found lots of good advice for newbies. Like how to take good product pictures or market my shop.

Along the way I have found a lot more great artists on Etsy like EbbandFlo who makes crocheted wire jewellery or shkolnik who makes really really cute felted things!!! Who doesn't love cute things!

Now I am selling on Etsy and I love it! Etsy has such a great community and I am proud to be part of it! I love handmade! I love supporting our lovely designers and artists! I look forward every day to the new and creative things that I will come across on Etsy!

I love this look! I want to do something like this in my living room. I picture a big cherry blossom branch or tree in brown and maybe some splashes of red in the corner over my sons snack table.

The Cure 2009 Week One

Week One
1.Find your inspiration.
2.Get rid of at least one thing that you do not need.

My inspiration for my bedroom is nature and art. (green, white, brown) I would like my bedroom to be quite a lot like the inspiration photo above.

We just moved and that is why my bedroom is totally unfinished. We got rid of quite a few things in the move. I think I will get rid of all of the old baby clothes that are sitting in my closet though!

OK This Is Funny

"Tired of boring old single sunsets? We have DOUBLE SUNSETS for DOUBLE ROMANTICNESS! Our sunsets are GUARANTEED! Where will the sun set? WE DON'T KNOW! Order NOW!"

I came across this site today. Photoshopdisasters.com

I recommend taking a look at it because there are some very funny mistakes on magazine covers and adds. You might even recognize some of them! It also goes to show that you CAN NOT believe any of what you see when you look at the tiny models in magazines!!! Their missing hips air brushed thighs and alien-like long arms and legs. How about this lady in the picture below with the missing arm?

Herban Devi Handmade Clothing

Wooh! I spent what could have been hours yesterday browsing through this amazing handmade clothing shop called Herban Devi!(click on the picture to visit her shop)

I absolutely love her hoodie scarves! I like how you could make any shirt a hoodie. I also like how comfortable her pants and basically her whole line of clothing looks. Very soft and good for relaxing in.

This shirt is now on my wish list! Yay!
