A Dinner Time Craving

When I am craving something flavourful and yummy for dinner, but really don't feel like cooking I pop out my rice cooker, my frying pan and make some stir fry! Here is my yummy and simple recipe!

Ingredients:
Garlic
Soy Sauce
Ginger
Baby corn
Zucchini
Onions
Green beans
Chicken
Shrimp
Scallops

Directions:
Cut chicken in small pieces and fry until cooked. Add onions, garlic, soy sauce and ginger then add the rest of the veggies. Fry them until they are almost entirely cooked and then add shrimp, scallops or both.

Put it on top of some rice and now you are ready to eat!

Tribut To Vanocuver's Creativity

I missed the treasury opening AGAIN because my computer was being slow, but I was so excited to share this collection of items made by Vancouver designers and Vancouver related items that I have to share it here!

I thought of making this treasury this morning when I turned on the TV so my son could watch cartoons and saw the torch being run past my old apartment in downtown Vancouver!! :) I though hey why not showcase some of Vancouver's talent in the spirit of the Olympics.

Caring For Your Sterling Silver Jewelry

Not everyone wants to go out and buy silver polish or sit there and polish so often not the jewelry sits in your jewelry box and gets tarnished. I am going to give you two great ways to polish silver jewelry with products that are already in your home.

First I am going to share some tips about prolonging the life of your sterling silver jewelry...
-Never shower, swim or bath with jewelry on.
-Keep your jewelry in a dry non humid place
-Don't keep jewelry in the bathroom

Here is how to polish your jewelry without buying silver polish...
All you need is baking soda, water and a flat dish that can hold about 2" of water.

1. Boil water
2. Poor water in dish
3. Lay jewelry out flat along the bottom of the dish
4. Sprinkle a bit of baking soda on top of the water and jewelry

You will instantly see your jewelry look like it is turning silver again, but you should leave it in there for about 30 minutes. When it is time to take it out gently dry your jewelry with a soft cloth or towel.

Here is a second way to polish your jewelry.
All you need is water, liquid laundry soap and a dish.

1. Mix water and soap in the dish
2. Lay your jewelry flat on the bottom
3. Let sit for about 3-5 minutes
4. When you are done dry your jewelry with a soft cloth or towel

Spring Is Here... Already!?

I took these pictures of cherry blossoms on the trees from my walk today so I can share how I feel and I am ecstatic to see cherry blossoms on the trees in February! Why? Because I grew up in Saskatchewan where it is usually minus 30 Celsius in the middle of February and when you go out side your nostrils freeze shut and your face is stuck in your sleeve to try and get the little warmth you can from your breath!!! I could go on... This was my second winter in Vancouver and it still excites me when the winter is so short!

So it's spring here in Vancouver already! It might suck for the Olympics, but I am pretty happy! There are so many things to look forward to when you think of spring. The warmth for one, but I am excited about how spring makes me feel. It brings on a whole wave of creativity for me. Fresh colours and jewellery to wear with summer attire! :) That means people can actually see the jewellery you are wearing without the big coat in the way! hehe

Spring is also time for getting ready for going to craft shows. All the creative people come out of there houses and share there work with the world once again. I only hope that it stays! What is the weather like where you live?

For The Lush February's Child

"Amethyst
is a violet variety of quartz often used in jewelry. The name comes from the Ancient Greek a- ("not") and methustos ("intoxicated"), a reference to the belief that the stone protected its owner from drunkenness; the ancient Greeks and Romans wore amethyst and made drinking vessels of it in the belief that it would prevent intoxication." -Wikipedia

According to the Romans ancient beliefs I can drink as much as I want and never have to worry about making a fool of my self as long as I am wearing amethyst of course! :) So for all those gin and tonic lovers I give you a lovely collection of amethyst jewellery for those crazy nights out.
